data (Dendrite System).

- Created reports
which tied Lovenox, Heparin, and Plavix DDD data with Procedures data;
- Clever use of SAS with Excel via DDE; Also
used VBA coding with Excel.

| SAS Developer, Guardian Life Insurance |
04/05-09/05 | -
IBM AIX environment with Oracle and SAS version 9.1.
- Worked primarily to develop a series of production quality SAS
programs executing on the Unix platform which read data from both flat files and Oracle tables, producing a driver file with
two main keys - Agency Code, and Producer Code; this driver file is then split by all agency codes and all producer codes,
creating Excel spreadsheets from SAS via XML. The process is elegant; by outputting each file as XML, Excel opens a completely
formatted report without using any special translation tools within SAS such as ODS, Proc Export, DDE; No VBA on the Excel
side is used, yet each report is fully formatted.
- >2400 emails per job.
- Saved return codes and produced
completed audit reports which were automatically emailed.
- Modular program design, so any program can be quickly modified
to produce any desired report for any particular email job. The concept of using SAS for writing raw XML has many possibilities
such as production intranet reporting repositories. There is an automatic cost savings as well, since existing SAS tools are
leveraged without needing other special reporting packages.
